Ice Arena

The Wex is home to the county’s only indoor ice arena. On any given fall, winter or spring day, you can take in a hockey game, come skating, play drop-in hockey, or have a birthday party on the ice.

.

Please take a moment to review the Locker Room Policy.  We would greatly appreciate if everyone could re-familiarize themselves with these rules.  We are trying to keep costs down, and one way we are doing this is by trying to reduce the damage and vandalism that sometimes happens in the locker rooms and hallway.  These rules are taken directly from the sign that is posted outside the locker room hallway.  They are not new.  We are simply trying to remind our wonderful ice users of these policies.

Cadillac High School Hockey Team:

Congratulations once again to the Cadillac High School Hockey team on great 2010-2011 season!  The guys are gearing up for this season and can’t wait to hit the ice for what is sure to be a spectacular, exciting 2011-2012 hockey season.   The first home game will be December 7, 2011 against Grand Haven at 7:00 p.m.   These young men are amazing–both on and off the rink.  You’ll never meet a more polite and well-mannered group of kids, but look out!…They turn into hockey tigers as soon as those skates hit the ice.  If you take their natural talent and ability and pair it up with the guidance and leadership of Coach Scott Graham, these kids are bound to do great things.

New this year!  The High School Locker room has undergone some changes.  Thanks to a lot of hard work, donations, sponsorships and perseverance, the High School locker room now has its own showers.  We would like to thank the following:

  • Randy Williams Construction
  • Dean Dekryger at D&K design (thank you for the drawings)
  • Pro Build
  • Nixon Carpet
  • Home Depot
  • Tractor Supply Company of Cadillac
  • Joe Conerly, for presenting the idea in the first place
We would also like to send a big THANK YOU to  Hibma Auto Body Shop for reconditioning the game nets (frames).  They look great and thanks to, they will continue to be used for many years!

CAHA (Cadillac Area Hockey Association):

We are very proud have the kids of CAHA call The Wex home.  Kids from ages 4 on up join in the fun and competition that hockey is all about.  For more information about CAHA please take a look at their web site:  Click here to view CAHA web site.
